On a chilly evening, with friends and family watching from the sidelines, South Hill Select defeated Team Ditka 20-12 to win the MCV men’s division championship.
The game itself was fairly close, with the score 12-12 at the midway point. In the second half, Ditka’s offense floundered, coming up empty on several long pass attempts with no reward.

After some celebration, the champs donned their “Champion” shirts and posed for a final snapshot. The backs of the shirts read, ” Sometimes one word tells the whole story.”
South Hill Select team captain Ben McEvoy said, “We wanted to win this one pretty freakin’ bad.”
