Dear Editor, ?

Thank you for your attendance and coverage of the STRUT Planning Committee’s STRUT Karneval show. However, we must express our extreme disappointment in the article that was featured in the March 30 edition of The CT.

To say that the “back stage was less organized; 20 minutes before the show half the models were running around with their hair and makeup undone, half-dressed and wearing no makeup” is a complete falsity.

Even though our show started at 7 p.m., we began hair and makeup on our models at 9 a.m. We had 48 models in the show. Please tell me how 24 people could have had their hair and makeup completed in just twenty minutes?? There were close to 100 people backstage, and Ms. Peters would not have had any way of knowing who were models and who were not without speaking with one of the 20 people in charge, which she did not.

Perhaps if any of the executive board of the STRUT committee had been interviewed for this piece, the information in the article would have been correct. However, none of the members were ever spoken to for this article by The CT. Laura Peters showed up less than an hour before the show and had to scavenge to get information, which lead to the wrong information. I appreciate the coverage, but in the future when speaking about STRUT and any other organization from VCU, please make a better effort to obtain and print the truth. ?

Thank you,?
