“DRUMline Live” is a theatrical tour based on the 2002 hit movie “Drumline,” which centers around historically black colleges and universities and their marching bands.
The theatrical production is in the same vein, featuring performers who play instruments, sing, and dance.
The music covers an array of genres including jazz, blues, R&B, gospel, and hip-hop. Even though the show is based on college bands, it aims to appeal to all ages and races.
” ‘DRUMline Live’ is the ultimate family theatrical production. Whether you are 5 or 95 years old, you will enjoy and appreciate our show,” “DRUMline Live” Musical Director Don P. Roberts said.
Roberts was inspired to create a theatrical production after he served as the executive band consultant for the Drumline movie, so he created “DRUMline Live.”
The host of the show, Slater Thorpe, said “Drumline Live” is quite unique.
“Even if you know nothing about marching bands, if you simply like good music, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this show,” Thorpe said.
“DRUMline Live” takes place Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Landmark Theatre.
