WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Quanitra Hollingsworth (Chesapeake/Great
Bridge) underwent season-ending surgery this week
to repair her torn Achilles. Hollingworth suffered
the injury Feb. 14 while battling for a defensive
rebound against UNC Wilmington. The junior was
a preseason all-CAA first team selection.
MEN’S TENNIS
The 20th-ranked Rams downed Old Dominion
4-1 Wednesday. The win is the fifth in a row for
the team, which is now 9-1 overall.
WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
Senior Danielle Williams (Virginia Beach/Salem)
set personal bests with a time of 5:07.52 in the
mile run and a time of 2:18.48 in the 800-meter
run to pace the Rams at the Carolina Chick-fil-A
Invitational last weekend. Williams placed fourth
in the mile run and sixth in the 800-meter. Natalie
Duncan (Alexandria/West Potomac) placed fourth
in the shot put with a throw of 42′ 1.25”. Verniece
Johnson (Mineral/Louisa) placed fifth in the long
jump with a leap of 18′ 7” leap while Frankie Moore
(Chesapeake/Great Bridge) placed eighth in the high
jump at 5’2.25 inches.
