VCU track and field competed in its first outdoor event of the season, hosting the three-day Ram Invitational Thursday-Saturday at Sports Backers Stadium.

Verniece Johnson (Mineral/Louisa High School) won the triple jump with a mark of 36-11 and bounded into second place in the long jump, posting a leap 18-6
