In an article published Nov. 28, The Commonwealth Times mistakenly printed that the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law in 1973. The Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination based on disability became a law in 1990. We also referred to people with disabilities as handicapped people.
