Students evacuate Cary & Belvidere dorm following car fire

Students evacuated VCU’s Cary & Belvidere dorm Tuesday night following a car fire that occurred in the building’s connected parking lot.
Smoke filled the air and flames could be seen from inside the Jefferson Street Parking Deck.
Firefighters put out the fire by 9:02 p.m., and students were permitted to reenter the dorm around 9:20 p.m.
No injuries were reported, according to VCU Police.
