VCU police alerted students to a robbery on campus overnight.
Three suspects approached one victim near 835 W. Grace Street around 12:25 a.m., and demanded he “give up his stuff,” stated a VCU alert message. One suspect punched the victim and stole his backpack, wallet and cellphone. The suspects left the scene, heading south on Shafer Street.
Students were notified of the robbery via alert text message and an email around 12:42 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., respectively. VCU reported the incident to have been “resolved” by 2:00 a.m.
The suspects are all described as being 5-foot-8 and 6-feet tall. One suspect is described as a black male, and wore a blue baseball cap, a grey sweatshirt and black pants. The second suspect is described as a black male wearing all black clothing. The third suspect is described as a light skinned male, and wore a camouflage jacket and dark pants, police reported.
The Richmond Police are investigating the incident.
