VCU baseball’s Bill Cullen has been named Second Team All-America by College Sports Madness.

The junior ended 2012 with a .347 batting average, 90 hits, 25 doubles and recorded five home runs. His 62 runs scored were 19 more than any other VCU player, and his nine triples ranked second in the country.

Cullen was named Atlantic 10 Preseason Player of the Year in early January, and was also named to the conference’s first team by College Sports Madness. VCU third baseman Joey Cujas made the list as well.

Cullen holds a .337 career batting average and a .510 slugging percentage in his first two years at VCU.

VCU begins its regular season at the Country Inn and Suites Elon Invitational against Boston College on Feb.15. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
