Yearlong Audition update: Sept. 13, 2012

Tricia Wiles
Performance Theatre

Wiles auditioned for her first Shafer Alliance Laboratory Theatre production, “Proof” by David Auburn.  She received a call-back, but was not cast in the play.  Wiles also started rehearsals for “Croaker – In Concert,” which will be performed in the Sara Belle November Theater at the SPARC Center on Sept. 22.

Kate Rancka
Voice

Rancka seems to have fallen into a routine.  “I think some weeks, you just have to go through the motions. Class, rehearsal,  rehearsal, class, rehearsal.  Sometimes finding the motivation to go through your routine every day can be harder than the exciting things like auditions and performances,” Rancka said.

Brooke Marsh

Marsh recently received a work study job in the Pollak building as an office assistant, but has yet to begin her job.  Marsh also met with her adviser and will technically have enough credits in the spring semester to be considered a sophomore.  She will also start working toward a media studies minor next semester.

Rex Kennedy
Dance

Last week, Kennedy began rehearsals for Rachel Brady’s senior project and continued rehearsals for Nikolai McKenzie’s junior composition class.  Kennedy started rehearsals for a duet which Courtney Harris is choreographing for the VCU Dance Now concert in February.  Kennedy is also hoping to begin choreographing his own piece for the Student Choreography concert, which is Jan. 25 and 26.
