Player of the Week

Nathaniel Lester, Sr., G, Hofstra

After missing all of last season due to an injury, Lester came out with a bang last Friday, scoring a career-high 33 points in Hofstra’s win over Long Island. He also brought down five rebounds and recorded three steals in the Pride’s win. Lester is the first Hofstra player other than Charles Jenkins to reach the 30-point plateau since the 2007-2008 season.

Rookie of the Week

Reggie Spencer, Fr., F, Northeastern

As Northeastern’s sixth man, Lester came off the bench and scored 16 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in the Huskies’ 82-74 overtime victory over Boston University. Spencer became the first Northeastern player to record a double-double in their debut since Chaisson Allen on Nov. 11, 2007.

Notes

  • Three CAA schools received votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll released Monday. George Mason received 11 points, Drexel got five points and VCU was given three points.
