After dropping six straight games, including two to open the conference, the VCU volleyball team looked like it was headed in the wrong direction.
That was until Tuesday night, when the Rams dismantled Howard 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-10) in a match that lasted just over an hour.
Kristin Boyd and Courtney Hott combined for 25 kills and seven digs to lead VCU to its first win since Sept. 10.
Senior Anett Farkas blasted eight kills in 11 swings and hit .727, while while junior Jasmine Waters and freshman Janelle Sykes collected three blocks apiece.
The Rams hit a season-high .453, improving to 5-11 on the season, and will visit Georgia State Friday.
