VCU men’s basketball received a surprising endorsement this week from none other than Lil Wayne on MTV.com in regards to their performance in the CAA tournament and advancement into the NCAA tournament.

“Shout-out to all the tournaments, because you got to pay attention (to all the teams),” Lil Wayne said. “Everybody who came out (as winners in) the tournaments was sleepers. You got teams like Radford, you got teams like Virginia Commonwealth came out there – shout-out to (Eric) Maynor and (Larry) Sanders, I love them boys. Those teams aren’t there for nothing. You got to watch Virginia Commonwealth. You got to watch those teams.”
