An Omaha, Neb., man who put his hyperactive cat into a homemade bong in an effort to sedate her is facing animal cruelty charges, as well as the howling of animal lovers.
Police responding to a domestic disturbance alleged they saw the 20-year-old man smoking marijuana through a piece of garden hose attached to a duct-taped, plastic box which the cat had been stuffed into.

The man told deputies that 6-month-old Shadow was hyper and he was trying to calm her down.
The man was cited for misdemeanor animal cruelty and paid a $400 fine. He also faces drug charges.
