The Rams punished Towson, 63-34, this past Thursday. Four Rams scored in double-figures. Senior Quanitra Hollingsworth (Chesapeake/Great Bridge) led all scorers with 13 points. Senior Radoslava Bachvarova (Varna, Bulgaria/Daytona Beach C.C.) and freshman Courtney Hurt (Conyers, Ga./Salem) both scored 11 points while junior La’Tavia Rorie (Charlotte, N.C./Harding University HS) added 10 points. The Rams return to action Thursday against Georgia State at the Siegel Center.
MEN’S TENNIS
Freshman Nicolas Vinel (Metz, France) won two matches this past Saturday but the Rams still lost to No. 21 Wake Forest. The loss drops the Rams record to 8-3. The Rams take on Old Dominion on Wednesday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
The Rams picked up a 5-2 victory over Penn State this past Friday night. Junior Laura Burns (Hertford, England), sophomore Kateryna Yergina (Kiev, Ukraine) and freshman Mihaela Bunea (Bucharest, Romainia) all picked up singles and doubles victories. Freshman Alex Bara (Oradea, Romania) won her singles match. With the win, the Rams improve to 7-1. The Rams’ next match will be at Thalhimer Tennis Center against Virginia Tech.
