WOMEN’S TENNIS: Rams remain undefeated

Senior Tatsiana Uvarova
(Minsk, Belarus) and senior Viktoria
Konstantinova (Hanskovo, Bulgaria)
combined to take down Michal Amir and
Lisa Miller in the third and decisive doubles
match on Court 1. Senior Vera Petrashevitch (St.
Petersburg, Russia) and sophomore Laura Burns (Hertford,
England) teamed up to beat Adela Matejkova and Karin
Lundmark in the other doubles victory.

In singles action, Burns defeated Maggie MacKeever 6-2, 6-1 on
Court 4, Kateryna Yergina (Kiev, Ukraine) defeated Julia Huschke
6-2, 6-1 on Court 3 and Uvarova beat Amir 6-4, 6-1 on Court 1, giving
the Rams the 4 points needed for victory.

VCU next faces cross-town rival University of Richmond Saturday
and CAA-rival Georgia State Sunday. Both matches are at the Thalhimer
Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
