China experience proves invaluable to students
Fourteen mass communication students spent two weeks reporting in China and found new perspectives after interacting personally with Chinese students of Fudan University.
VCU has a formal partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and Fudan served as the base for the students’ two-week stay.
Fourteen mass communication students spent two weeks reporting in China and found new perspectives after interacting personally with Chinese students of Fudan University.
VCU has a formal partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and Fudan served as the base for the students’ two-week stay. Each VCU student was paired with a Fudan student, who assisted with tasks, such as translating.
For many of the 14 students, the cultural experience of interacting with their Fudan partner was not only a highlight, but life-changing.
Jason Ray is a junior mass communications major.
“The best part of the trip to Shanghai would have to be the interaction with the locals, especially our student partners at Fudan University,” Ray said.
