MEN’S TENNIS After six-and-a-half hours of play, the 12th-ranked Rams fell to fifth-ranked Virginia Friday night. Arnaud Le Cloerec (Plouhinec, France) won the biggest match of the night for the Rams, defeated 10th- ranked Treat Huey in 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. WOMEN’S TENNIS The Rams finished 2-1 at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships over the weekend.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

The Rams finished 2-1 at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships over the weekend.

The 12th-ranked Rams began the tournament with a loss to No. 11, California, but came back strong to defeat Vanderbilt 5-2 and BYU 4-2 in the consolation bracket. Tatsiana Uvarova (Minsk, Belarus) was perfect over the weekend in singles play.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Three players recorded career-highs in the Rams’ Homecoming victory over Georgia State. Jamal Shuler (Jacksonville, N.C./Jacksonville) and Michael Anderson (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) set career highs with 25 and 15 points, respectively. Eric Maynor (Fayetteville, N.C./Westover) set a career-high with 15 assists.

The win gives head coach Anthony Grant and the Rams 20 wins for the season.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Rams earned a split this week, losing to Delaware on Thursday night, but coming back strong to defeat George Mason. The Blue Hens defeated the Rams 82-51 at the Siegel Center. Quanitra Hollingsworth (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) led VCU with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
