Lecloerec sweeps player-of-the-week awards
Junior Arnaud Lecloerec (Plouhinec, France) was named Conference Player of the Week, and Lecloerec and partner Petr Olsak (Novy Jicin, Czech Republic) were selected as doubles team of the week.

Junior Arnaud Lecloerec (Plouhinec, France) was named Conference Player of the Week, and Lecloerec and partner Petr Olsak (Novy Jicin, Czech Republic) were selected as doubles team of the week.
Lecloerec, who is ranked No. 16 in the nation, improved to 23-8 on the season. His 70 career wins are the 10th-most in school history.
Lecloerec and Olsak are 10-5 this season and are ranked #49 in the nation.
Uvarova named player of the week, Rams jump five spots
Sophomore Tatsiana Uvarova (Minsk, Belarus), the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s 77th-ranked player, was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association’s Singles Player of the Week after three victories in four days at VCU’s top spot.
In addition, VCU moved up five spots in the ITA team poll, jumping into the No. 14 spot.
The Rams play this Thursday through Sunday at the CAA Championships in Newport News.
Relancio claims second at CAA Tournament
Senior Manuel Relancio (Corrientes, Argentina) fell one stroke shy of becoming the first individual champion for VCU since 2002. Relancio nearly made a birdie putt on 18 that would have forced a playoff against champion Georgia State’s Mark Haastrup. Relancio finished the past two CAA Tournaments at the runner-up.
Junior Jens Fahrbring (Sollentuna, Sweden) earned second-team all-conference honors.
Lucky number seven
Freshman Jared Bolden (Lynchburg/E.C. Glass High School) of the baseball team is seventh in the nation in batting average.
He is hitting .439 over 35 games with 11 doubles, four triples, two homers, 29 RBI and scoring 29 runs. His average is the highest of any freshman in the country.
VCU track and field to host conference championships
VCU will host the CAA Track and Field Championships at VCU’s SportsBackers Stadium. The championship meet begins Friday at 11 a.m., and concludes on Saturday with the final event scheduled for 4:50 p.m.
