‘Professional’ burglar turns out to be 11-year-old girl

Bosnian police who were hunting a ‘professional’ burglar have discovered she’s a schoolgirl.

The 11-year-old had been sneaking out at night to raid local homes after her parents went to sleep.

She was apprehended after she raided a local chemists store and made off with the equivalent of $450 from the till.

She was spotted on a security camera as she picked the locks and opened the cash register and identified when her picture was published in the local paper.

In other raids she grabbed jewelery, cash and cell phones.

A policeman was reported as saying the girl will not face charges because she is a minor.

Drunken woman cruises canals of Venice

An Italian woman stole a water taxi and went joy riding through Venice, all while “considerably under the influence” according to local police.

The 20-year-old had been celebrating the end of the carnival period. She jumped into an unoccupied motorboat and rammed a number of moored boats before getting into a wild chase through the complex canal network with Venetian water police.

The young woman, inexperienced with aquatic craft, was said to be driving so erratically that by the end of the chase all four policemen were injured and “numerous other boats” were damaged.

The police said she has been arrested and charged with theft, property damage, bodily harm and resisting arrest.

Village flooded by pig excrement

A German village in the state of Bavaria is recovering after being flooded by 240,000 liters of liquid pig manure.

Sewage rose to about one foot in the streets of Elsa after the tank burst.

“The village was swamped with green-brown liquid and it was pig manure – the mother of all muck,” a local policeman said.

Police believe the pig waste has caused at least $120,000 worth of damage.
