No. 2 GEORGE MASON

Players to watch: Jai Lewis averages a team-leading 14.3 ppg., 7.8 rebounds and shoots 56.6 percent; Tony Skinn averages 13 ppg. and had a team-leading 47 steals.

Other: The Patriots were ranked in the national poll before losing to Hofstra in the final week of the regular season. They are the conference’s top defensive team, allowing just 57.6 ppg.

No. 3 HOFSTRA

Players to watch: Loren Stokes averages a team-leading 17 ppg., while shooting 49.9 percent; Antoine Agudio averages 16.9 ppg. and shoots near 44 percent from behind the arc.

Other: The Pride, who have the CAA’s top-scoring offense at 77.4 ppg., were undefeated at home, but lost four of nine CAA games on the road.

No. 4 OLD DOMINION

record: 13-5 (21-8)

vs. VCU: W 78-75

Players to watch: Isaiah Hunter and Alex Loughton each average a team-high 14.1 ppg.; Loughton shoots just over 50 percent.

Other: Two of the Monarchs’ losses came in Virginia’s capital city, falling to VCU and the University of Richmond 61-58 in OT on Dec. 20. But they are the defending champions.

No. 5 NORTHEASTERN

Player to watch: Jose Juan Barera averages a team-leading 21.4 ppg.; Shawn James averages 12 ppg. while shooting better than 53 percent.

Other: The Huskies struggle on the road, prevailing in only four of nine CAA games and five of 13 overall.

Players to watch: Nick George averages a team-leading 16.7 ppg. while shooting 47 percent; B.A Walker scores 12.1 ppg.; Jesse Pellot-Rosa averages more than 2.0 spg.

Other: The Rams dropped only two games at the Siegel Center, both of which they led by double figures in the same half, but the tournament is at the Richmond Coliseum.

Other: The Tigers were victorious in only one-third of their CAA games on the road.

No. 8 DREXEL

Players to watch: Nana Harding averages 19.4 ppg. and a conference-leading 11.0 rpg.; Andrew Washington averages 12.6 ppg. while shooting near 50 percent.

Other: The Blue Hens won only two road games all year and they will have to win four road games in four days to win the tournament.

Players to watch: Herman Favors and Malcolm Manier average 12.2 and 12.0 ppg. respectively.

Other: The Panthers have been out-rebounded by a conference-worst 4.4 per game in CAA games.

Players to watch: Calvin Baker averages a team-leading 11.8 ppg.; Corey Cofield averages 10.0 ppg., while shooting 54.4 percent.

Other: The Tribe failed to put together two consecutive conference victories, so winning four CAA games in four days is a daunting task.
