VCU’s Michele Cosel (Mechanicsville/Atlee High School) and the Rams dropped the third straight game to Drexel, which includes former Raiders Narissa and Anora Suber. Cosel and the Suber sisters led Atlee to a perfect 30-0 season and a state championship in 2003.

Narissa Suber and Scanlon scored 12 points apiece. Anora Suber did not score.

Cosel and LaKea Jones (Fort Washington, Md.) registered 11 points each for the Rams, who made just 2 of 13 3-pointers. Vera Chistova (St. Petersburg, Russia) chipped in 10 points.

The Rams travel to Towson Thursday, the teams’ second meeting of the year. The Rams prevailed 72-61 in the first contest less than three weeks ago.
