Randy – ‘Randy the Band’
With the first song, “Punk Rock High,” including such lyrics as, “I got an electric guitar to compensate my small [expletive],” and “I wore baggy clothes I was overweight/ Now I’m a blue fox punk because I watched what I ate/ Now I wear bondage pants just because I can/ That’s the way that I am,” I thought I was in for a satire of punk rock.

As I listened, though, I wasn’t so sure. Other songs’ lyrics seemed serious enough. According to “I Raise My Fist,” they are “.Still vegetarian, Anti-American/ I’m still socialist and I still raise my fist/ I’m still anarchist; I’m still atheist/ I’m still pissed because some things they enlist.” Some of their lyrics are a bit pretentious (or maybe going for more satire), but all in all they’re pretty catchy. Randy’s sound reminded me a bit of NOFX at half speed.
