Men’s tennis open fall tournament play at Duke Invitational
VCU men’s tennis participated in their opening tournament of the fall season on Sept. 14 at the Duke Fab Four Invitational in Cary, North Carolina.

It pays to have a Smart coach
The VCU men’s basketball team finished last season with an overall record of 26-9, after finishing second in the Atlantic Ten and being ousted in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Cason joins Smart, Rams
The VCU men’s basketball program hired assistant coach David Cason to join Shaka Smart’s coaching staff on April 24. Cason spent the past three seasons in the same position at Vanderbilt University. He will fill the void left by former Rams assistant Mike Rhoades, who became the head coach at Rice University in March.
Women’s basketball loses in NIT; season over
The VCU Women’s Basketball team finished its season on March 21 with a 94-76 lost to Princeton University in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament.
Rams beat GW, reach second straight A-10 final
After losing its third leading scorer early in the first half, the VCU men’s basketball team beat George Washington University 74-55 on Saturday to advance to the Atlantic 10 tournament championship.
