Junior guard Melvin Johnson’s 23 points and sophomore guard Doug Brooks helped VCU eliminate the University of Richmond from the Atlantic 10 quarterfinals. The final score was 70-67, VCU victory.
Senior Treveon Grahams’ 22 points helped VCU defeat Fordham University, 63-57, to advance to the quarterfinal round in the Atlantic 10 tournament.
The VCU men’s basketball team lost an overtime heartbreaker to Stephen F. Austin State University 77-75 in the second round of the NCAA tournament in San Diego, CA. on Friday.

Now, as fans return to campus, they’ll be happy to learn their Rams took care of business during winter break and enter the second half of their schedule on a five-game winning streak with a 13-3 record overall.
