The VCU Police Department received a $2.08 million grant to build a regional training facility for campus police. The grant was announced in December by now-former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
With the 2013 Virginia gubernatorial election over, governor-elect Terry McAuliffe has the opportunity to tackle some of the difficulties in the Virginia higher education system.
Watching the gubernatorial election results trickle in last Tuesday night reminded me of that fact. Neither the governor’s race, nor the lieutenant governor’s race should have been this close, even with such uninspiring candidates. The fact that it was, however, says more about our electorate than it does about the candidates.
On Tuesday, November 5, students made their way to the polls to exercise their right to vote in the Virginia gubernatorial election.
