“At some point in the lives of most non-artists, there seems to be a cutoff after childhood when it’s time to stop drawing. Whether it suddenly becomes intimidating, loses its sociality or simply isn’t fun anymore, people eventually hand in their crayons and colored pencils for the pens and highlighters of the real world. A common argument I hear is, ‘I’m not any good at drawing.’ But plenty of people are awful at, say, bowling (myself included) and still go bowling occasionally. Drawing for recreation is something more people should pursue.”
