Q: Why did you choose baseball?
A: “When I was 6, my Dad put a bat in my hand and I never put it down . It is really my passion in life.”

Q: What sport would you be playing if you weren’t playing baseball?
A: “Basketball; I played in high school.”

Q: Who has influenced you most in your life?
A: “My father taught me nothing comes easy. He helped me make decisions but never forced me into anything. And he played baseball, so I wanted to be like him.”

Q: If you were your coach, what would you say that you bring to the table?
A: I would say that I play the game hard; I am a leader and a good teammate.

Q: Best moment in baseball, not necessarily at VCU?
A: “Being part of a Pac 10 championship team and going to the College World Series in Omaha with ASU (Joe transferred to VCU from Arizona State University).”

Q: Worst moment, not necessarily at VCU?
A: “Losing in the championship game against the Luray Wranglers after a long summer ’08 with the Covington Lumberjacks in the Valley League.”

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
A: “Derek Jeter because he has class, plays the game the right way, and I grew up idolizing him with my family being big time Yankee fans.”

Q: How would your teammates describe your personality off the field?
A: “Probably describe me as a funny, laid back guy off the field.”

Q: What do you want to do after college?
A: “I want to pursue the dream that I have had since I was a kid and that is start a career in professional baseball.”
