BASEBALL

Both of VCU’s midweek games
were cancelled because of rain. The
Rams were scheduled to play at home
versus VMI Tuesday and versus
Norfolk State Wednesday. The Rams
are back in action this weekend in a
home series against Towson.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Rams were recognized as
one of the most-improved teams in
Division I by the NCAA earlier this
week. VCU finished the season with
a school record, 26 wins with only
eight losses, after finishing last year
17-13. The Rams were one of only
25 teams to improve their record by
seven or more games.

TENNIS

Both the men’s and women’s teams
will head to the NCAA Tournament
as announced Tuesday. The men
earned an automatic bid after winning
the CAA tournament and will
face Penn State in Charlottesville
May 10. The women earned an atlarge
bid after finishing the season
18-5 and will face South Carolina in
Athens, Ga.
