BASEBALL

The Rams opened the 2008 season with a weekend
series at the 18th-ranked Texas Longhorns. Texas
swept the series, 6-2, 17-4 and 10-2. Seton Hall
will visit The Diamond Friday at 3 p.m. to take on
Seton Hall in VCU’s home opener.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Rams clinched their third 20-win season
and their first 80-61 win since the 1994-1995
season Sunday at Hofstra. Senior Krystal Vaughn
(Baltimore, Md./Lake Clifton-Eastern) scored a
career-high 28 points and added seven rebounds.
The team, now 10-5 in the CAA and 20-6 overall,
will face James Madison Thursday at 7 p.m. at the
Stuart C. Siegel Center.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

The 25th-ranked Rams squad defeated cross-town
rival Richmond 7-0 Saturday at the Thalhimer Tennis
Center. VCU will host Miami (Ohio) Thursday at
2 p.m.
