Section Pool | NFL Week 13

For me, last week was the unluckiest week of football ever. Michael De Soto got what he’s been waiting for. It’s not a new girlfriend (his current one is solidly mean), and it’s not the kind of happiness a woman can bring. In fact, I only brought up the topic of his love life so that I could make fun of the dumb girls this pal of mine attracts.

No, what I’m really talking about is that he’s caught up to me. We both are 92-76. Call it neck and neck.
Losing out to De Soto is not unusual for me, but last week’s thorough spanking bruised my ego. He doubled my effort, winning 12 to my six games. So what? The gaps closed. The tension at the sports desk is brooding and we two are sizing up the Sunday schedule like savage dogs.

Last week laid the ground-work for some close match-ups between playoff hopefuls and a few sleepy teams as well. It’s a general hoo-hah.
