Rams edge Delaware’s Fightin’ Blue Hens
NEWARK, Del. – Junior forward Jesse Pellot-Rosa (Richmond/George Wythe High School) scored 10 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to help the Rams earn a come-from-behind win against Delaware Thursday.
Senior forward Nick George (Manchester, England) made a pair of free throws with 2:48 remaining to give the Rams a 52-50 lead.

Senior forward Nick George (Manchester, England) made a pair of free throws with 2:48 remaining to give the Rams a 52-50 lead.
Pellot-Rosa made a jumper and Alexander Harper (Columbia, S.C.) sank a free throw with 31 seconds to go to put the Rams up 55-50.
Rulon Washington made two free throws with 25 seconds left to cut the Rams’ lead to three.
After the Blue Hens forced a turnover, they failed to tie the game, missing two 3-pointers.
Sophomore guard Jamal Shuler (Jacksonville, N.C.) hit a free throw with 3 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
Coming out of halftime up 34-29, the Blue Hens added a bucket to their lead. The Rams responded by outscoring their host 14-5 to claim a 43-41 advantage with 12:45 remaining.
The Rams’ defense limited the Blue Hens to 18 points in the second half and held their opponent without a field goal over the final 7 minutes of the game.
Earlier in the game the Blue Hens led 16-9 before the Rams used a 16-6 run, capped by a Harper 3-pointer, to give VCU its first lead of the game 25-22.
Washington and Harding Nana paced the Blue Hens, who drained seven 3-pointers, with 15 points apiece. Washington and Calvin Cannon made three baskets each from behind the arc.
