Adult diaper sales have increased dramatically in China as millions of people prepared for extensive train trips to be with their families on New Year’s.

Finding a vacant bathroom is often impossible during train rides that take as long as 30 hours on overcrowded trains.

Best-selling author Tucker Max will be conducting a book signing at Chop Suey Books this Thursday in promotion of his new book “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.”

“If you had told me like four years ago that I was going to be a New York Times Best-seller, I would have said, ‘Get the (expletive) out! What am I going to write about?'” Max explained in an interview.

VCU Idol finds students battling each other for top honors

Twenty-three acts showcased their talents in rapping, singing, and dancing at the Student Networking Association sponsored VCU Idol in the Student Commons on Friday.

A runway penetrated the audience to nearly the middle of the room. On each side of the long, slender stage were about 10 rows of seats facing in toward the middle, while about 20 rows looked in from the back half of the room.

Economics student dies

Peter William Hufschmidt, an economics major, died Tuesday, Jan. 24. He was 22.

Hufschmidt enjoyed outdoor activities such as bicycling and camping. He attended Midlothian High School and was an alternate on the regional-winning VCU School of Business Fed Challenge Team.

Honors College to benefit students academically, socially

By establishing an Honors College, VCU administrators plan to offer more opportunities for honors students than at any other time in VCU’s history.

The proposed Honors College, however, not only will tend to the needs of honors students but also help other students, especially those in the lower division.

VOX@VCU to lobby at Capitol

Hundreds of college students will have the chance to defend their civil rights in front of the General Assembly on Thursday, and VCU students could be among them, said Sara Duke, president of VCU’s Voices for Planned Parenthood, or VOX@VCU.

The organization, which calls itself the “pro-choice” voice on campus, has lobbied at the Capitol to protect civil rights for the last two years, Duke said.
