The Virginia Commonwealth University women’s soccer team will make its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament after receiving an at-large bid.
The Rams (12-4-5) will face Clemson (9-8-2) 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
National seed and host North Carolina (20-1-0) will meet Western Carolina (18-5-0) at 5 p.m.
The winners will play in the second round 1p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.
Gardsjord is in soccer’s Top Drawer
Senior Hedda Gardsjord (Oslo, Norway) was picked as a Top Drawer Soccer fifth team defender.
Gardsjord has started all but one of the 83 games the Rams have played since her arrival in 2002 and currently stands sixth on the university’s all-time list for career assists.
