Player to watch: Senior guard Shareese Grant averaged 13 points and four assists, the most of any of the Monarchs’ three returning starters.

Player to watch: Take your pick between senior forwards Tiara Malcom and Tiffany Young. The two took turns getting Blue Hens game highs in points and rebounds.

3. Virginia Commonwealth
Last Season: 10-8 CAA, 14-14 Overall

4. James Madison
Last Season: 7-11 CAA, 13-18 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 0-2 by almost identical scores (77-67, 76-67)
Player to watch: Meredith Alexis averaged a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) as a freshman last season, starting all 31 of the Dukes’ games.

5. Hofstra
Last Season: 11-7 CAA, 14-14 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 1-2 with a 71-62 loss in the CAA quarterfinals
Player to watch: Amaka Agugua led the Pride in scoring (12 points per games) and rebounding (six rebounds per game) and the 5-11 Herndon native is also good for about a block a game

6. William & Mary
Last Season: 6-12 CAA, 11-18 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 0-2
Player to watch: With 137 assists in her first year, point guard Kyle DeHaven created dozens of scoring opportunities for the Tribe, but her 152 turnovers gave her opponents even more chances to get on the board.

7. George Mason
Last Season: 11-7 CAA, 18-11 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 3-0 with a 73-59 win in the CAA semifinals
Player to watch: The only thing more impressive than the 17 points per game Jen Derevjanik dropped in the regular season, is the 25-point clip in the CAA tournament. She stuck the Rams up for 40 points in a 73-59 win in the semifinals.

8. UNC-Wilmington
Last Season: 10-8 CAA, 15-13 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 2-0
Player to watch: Senior forward Tanika Harrison is the only player on the Seahawks roster with more than eight starts. She may have to nearly triple her output last season (6 points per game, 3 rebounds per game) to make up for the loss of guard Cherie Lea.

9. Drexel
Last Season: 11-7 CAA, 10-18 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 0-2
Player to watch: Atlee High School grad Narissa Suber scored 25 points in the Dragons’ first exhibition game of the season. The freshman was 9 of 13 from the floor, knocking down seven three-pointers. Try not to confuse her with twin sister Anora Suber.

10. Towson
Last Season: 1-17 CAA, 9-19 Overall
Record vs. the Rams: 0-2
Player to watch: Preseason All-CAA first-teamer Kacy O’Brien is one of the Tigers three returning starters to average double-digit points last season. Her 15 points and 6 rebounds a night highlighted Towson’s otherwise dismal season.
