VCU, Capel agree to new deal Head basketball coach Jeff Capel came to terms with VCU on a deal that should keep him on the Rams’ sidelines through the 2009-2010 season. He announced on April 8 that he would remain the Rams head coach despite being interviewed by Auburn and Miami.

Morely pitches Deacons past Rams

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Tim Morely scattered two hits in eight innings, and first baseman Brad Scioletti drove in three runs as the Wake Forest (16-24) beat Virginia Commonwealth (28-11) 7-1 Tuesday night at Hooks Stadium. Morely took a one-hit shutout into the top of the sixth before senior third baseman Anthony Granato scored on a groundball off the bat of designated hitter Jeff Parrish.

VCU faces challenge in Tribe after Rahl

The VCU baseball team has payback on their minds this weekend.

Starting tomorrow, VCU plays a three-game series against Colonial Athletic Association foe William and Mary, in Williamsburg.

The team is looking for revenge after a 12-1 loss on Feb. 25, very early in the season.
