Davey sets two VCU records

Senior Shaunette Davey earned two new Virginia Commonwealth records at the University of South Florida Bulls Invitational Saturday.

Davey finished second overall in the 200- and 400-meter events, automatically qualifying for the NCAA East Regionals after running the 400 in 54.

CAA first place Rams win fourth straight

VCU Baseball won the first two games of a three-game home series against Old Dominion University this past weekend. The Rams are first in the CAA with a 6-1 conference record and a 24-7 overall record after the wins. The Monarchs fell to 1-3 in the CAA (10-17 overall) with the losses.

Students, faculty send message to state lawmakers: More money for education

More money for education became the main message demonstrators tried to send to state legislators last Friday when students and faculty gathered in front of VCU’s James Branch Cabell Library before the education march to the State Capitol.

“Education is our right, not a privilege,” said Shannon Eastwood, a VCU senior theater major and member of the Student Education Coalition.
