“Sorority Life”

This week was certainly a dramatic one for the girls of DZO. Brooke depledged for three days and then re-pledged after a talk with her big sister. Maggie and some other girls gang up on Brooke for coming back. Maggie has tried to dominate the pledge class from the beginning and I’m certain that this won’t be her last attempt at swaying what happens – particularly when it concerns Brooke and Karissa. Karissa also got into a bit of trouble when a sister took her pledge book and, out of frustration, she said she would slap her to get it back. She was given a second chance, but she is walking on thin ice with the sisters.

“Fraternity Life”

Poor Earl. He is dating a stripper, who is not the

prettiest lady, and his pledge brothers relentlessly heckle him about it. It bothers him so much that he goes to his big brother, who offers some comfort about it. Paul was also causing some tension in the pledge class this episode. He was the leader for that week and forgot a few things, which got his pledge brothers in trouble with the brothers. By the end, things were smoothed over and Paul went out on his first informal social event with his fellow pledges.

“American Idol”

In a shocking turn of events, Ricky Smith was eliminated last week. Because no one was voted off the previous week, the votes from that week carried over. Ricky Smith wasn’t in the bottom three the previous week, so it was a surprise to everyone that he was eliminated. I never sang his praises as a performer, but he was the nicest guy on the show and certainly not the least talented. A few “American Idol” contestants were touched by and angel this week. Ricky’s farewell video was a tearjerker and because the show was cut back down to 30 minutes, there wasn’t even time for him to sing his “American Idol” swan song.
