Richmond is two cities: one comprised of everything VCU has purchased and drenched in black and gold, then the rest of it. The few areas of Richmond that have not been taken over by the university are mostly poor and black.
It won’t stand in the record books, but the VCU men’s basketball team made the final exhibition game before the start of the season count, as the Rams dominated California University of Pennsylvania Friday, Nov. 7, winning the contest 92-43.
In March of this year, VCU’s athletic program unveiled a new logo for the second time in as many years, toward the end of the 2013-14 school year. The logo was not placed on VCU apparel until Aug. 16 when the Black and Gold Volleyball scrimmage served as the official start of the 2014-15 calander year and introduction of the logo on VCU team uniforms.
VCU volleyball has dominated its early season opponents on its way to a 5-1 record.
