For this week’s pick of the week we’re going to be covering the MLB as the Philadelphia Phillies face off against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C on Sept. 30.

Looking at the National League East standings, we see the Phillies — with a record of 83 wins and 70 losses — are in third place in a battle with the San Diego Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers for the final two playoff spots. The Nationals sit at the bottom of the National League East with a losing record of 101 losses and 53 wins.

Former National Bryce Harper looks to capitalize and take the win against his former team. Harper last faced off against the Nationals the week of Sept. 11, where he ended his home run drought by hitting his first homer since breaking his finger in June, according to NBC Sports.

The Phillies will take the win this time. In two previous meetings against the Nationals the Phillies have come out on top. The Nationals are coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves. With a healthy Harper and help from rookie Matt Vierling and Andrew Bellatti, who had standout plays in last week’s game against the Blue Jays. The Phillies should come away with the win and make one final push to secure a playoff spot.

This game should be a great matchup though, as the Phillies look to start a winning streak and keep the Nationals in the cellar.
