Although my experience at The Commonwealth Times was brief, it was one that I am very thankful to have had. I was extremely nervous when I joined the staff spring semester of my senior year, taking over the illustrations editor position. Despite being late to the party, I felt very much welcomed into the group by some of the kindest people. It was a whirlwind of learning, problem solving and opportunities I wouldn’t have been able to have anywhere else. Prior to joining the staff, I had done illustrations for The CT for over a year. But coming on as an editor brought a new level of excitement to seeing each issue every week, especially after witnessing the incredible amount of hard work the writers, designers and editors poured into each paper. My time at The CT was short but sweet, however it’s something I’m very proud to say I was a part of.
