This piece is about those ridiculous, fun, caring little (or even big) things that you will do for your friends. Maybe it was just to brighten their day or to cheer yourself up through doing something a little selfless to make someone smile. With so much horror on the nightly news—take, for instance, the unceasing coverage of the ebola crisis—it’s important to focus on the good things people do for each other. It’s cheery, sure, but important; I hope someone feels they can relate to this little moment when a friend has convinced you to go out and do something you felt reluctant to do, out of laziness or fear. My process reflects this, too—I am new to the style I chose, and it was certainly a challenge to make it work, but I’m glad I did. Those challenges and new situations can always turn out to be new and fun.
