VCU Police apprehend reckless driver outside Shafer
A male in his mid-twenties was seen arrested outside of Shafer Dining Center today after a blocks-long pursuit by VCU police.
According to police, a bicycle patrolman spotted a white Chrysler sedan driving recklessly on West Grace Street and pull into VCU’s NN lot. The officer radioed for a squad car, and when the car arrived, the suspect quickly pulled out of the lot and led police on a chase east on Grace. He turned south on Harrison Street and then immediately west onto Franklin. After turning south down Laurel and then onto Cathedral Place, the man stopped his car in front of Shafer Dining Center.
VCU Police took the man into custody and there were no injuries. There was no word on whether the man was affiliated with VCU.
