ODU head coach Blaine Taylor was at his fiery best Saturday versus VCU. Our cover shot shows it.

When it comes to putting a story from The CT’s Sports section on the front cover, it’s a general rule that it tends to be of a VCU player, coach or fan.
Yet when considering the potential exceptions to that rule, ODU head coach Blaine Taylor is surely right at the top of the list. The mercurial ninth-year veteran of the Monarchs has always seemingly had a frosty relationship with VCU, and that’s done nothing but continue since the Rams made the Final Four last March.
First, Taylor struck an arrow right into any VCU’s fan heart in the beginning of the season at CAA Media Day when he said “the Tournament can make rock stars out of average people,” then he ruffled feathers again this past Saturday in his post-game press conference after VCU had soundly defeated the Monarchs.
So because of that, Taylor landed himself onto the cover of today’s CT, editions of which can be picked up all around campus.
In the end, the decision wasn’t a tough one. What can we say? At least when it comes to the CAA, the guy’s a rock star, baby.
This is awesome. #fodu
