Following VCU’s win over George Washington today, third-year head coach Shaka Smart noted in his  post-game press conference that sophomore Juvonte Reddic has likely nailed down a starting spot after a string of impressive performances that continued today with six points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Indeed, Reddic was all over the place versus the Colonials and particularly made himself quite the nuisance on the defensive end, picking up three blocks during his 36 minutes played.

Perhaps this photo, snapped by CT photography editor Chris Conway, personifies that effort more than any other. On the play, Reddic uses every last bit of his 6-foot-9-inch, 235 pound frame to keep GW’s junior guard Bryan Bynes from slashing to the hoop.

It’s almost as if Reddic is saying to Bynes, “you aren’t going anywhere.”
