VCU police chief John Venuti on Tuesday announced a new police substation will be located on the MCV campus.
Four officers will staff the new substation during daylight hours, which is located at 1000 E. Marshall St. In addition to the new station, a yellow call box was added for reporting emergencies after hours.
Police Chief John Venuti said the substation is intended to extend “presence on our campuses in which police and security are both highly visible and accessible.”
“Our new police substation reinforces that goal by making the VCU Police Department more visible and accessible to students, faculty, staff and visitors,” he said.
Police said they have also unveiled a new way to report crimes and tips to their department.
