CAA players of the week:
Kevin Collins, Towson: Collins went .609 from the plate and had six doubles, eight runs and 13 RBI’s in the Tiger’s five games last week. In their sweep of Georgia State,
Collins went 11-16 with 10 RBI and in the second game of the series had a career-high five hits.
CAA co-pitchers of the week:
Kevin Crum, George Mason: Crum is now 4-0 and has a .418 ERA after letting up only six hits in a seven-inning shutout versus UNC Wilmington. Crum struck out three
and retired 10 batters in a row at one point in the 2-1 victory over the Seahawks.
Turner Phelps, James Madison: Phelps pitched a five-hit, complete game in a 6-1 win versus ODU after giving up a run in the first but then yielding no others the
remainder of the game. Phelps moved into seventh all time on JMU’s career strikeout list with 207 after getting 10 on the day.
CAA rookie of the week:
Jared Rogers, Hofstra: Rogers went a career-long eight innings and gave up just one run on four hits in a winning effort versus the winless (in the conference)
Northeastern Huskies last Sunday.
