SPORTS: Breaking News: ODU leads VCU 32-29 at half
RICHMOND- Old Dominion outscored VCU 13-7 in the final five minutes to take a 32-29 halftime lead.
The Rams had jumped out to as much as a five point lead before ODU was able to take the late advantage.
Each team struggled offensively as ODU shot 41 percent and VCU was 10-28 (only 35 percent). The Rams were also out-rebounded 25-13 in the half.
Senior Gerald Lee leads all scorers at the break with 12 points.
The VCU scoring has been a little more spread out as two players (Bradford Burgess and Joey Rodriguez) have scored eight. Jaime Skeen poured in six and Larry Sanders scored five.
One potentially-crippling statistic is the Rams’ foul trouble, particularly in the post. Sanders and Kirill Pishchalnikov have two and Terrance Saintil has three.
The winner of this game will play the winner of the William & Mary/Northeastern game in tomorrow night’s final.
