I love you, Paul Rudd
I have a huge man crush on Paul Rudd. I’ve sat through some downright god-awful movies just because he was in them like “Overnight Delivery” and “The Ch
Something fashionable this way struts
Fashion, dance, music and design will take over the Stuart C. Siegel Center Saturday at 7 p.m. for the VCU STRUT Fashion Show, the first major event of Richmond Fashion Week.
The STRUT Committee, composed of 15 VCU students, picked a “Karneval” theme for this year’s show.
French film festival to grace Byrd Theatre
This weekend, you might notice a huge influx of people chattering in a language you vaguely remember from high school wandering around the city. That’s because it’s time for Richmond’s 17th annual French Film Festival.
According to their mission statement, since 1993, VCU and University of Richmond have held the French Film Festival to “promote French language cinema and culture in the United States” and “create a tradition of Franco-American corporate and cultural partnerships.
Vote for your next president
It is one of the greatest weeks of the year-no not the week of the Off Campus Living Fair, SGA Elections. Even though SGA and The CT have a longstanding reputation of not getting along, I’m going to break down some barriers here and I strongly encourage all VCU students to vote in the upcoming elections and when you vote, vote for Stephanie Lynch as Student Body President on the Lynch-Goldshine-Khan ticket.
Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Earlier this year, President Barack Obama made history when he took the oath of office. This summer, Michael Rao will become the new president of our beloved VCU when he comes here in July from Central Michigan University.
In these times of change, one thing has become clear to me: We need Joshua Ronk as our next student body president!
Having seen Joshua and his all-star teammates Josie Mace and Jenny You in action over the years, I can faithfully attest to his ticket’s maturity and intellect.
Gabriel Walker: presumptive SGA president-elect
After an intense week of campaigning for the Student Government Association presidential nominees, WVCW announced the presumptive SGA president-elect to be Gabriel Walker, with Vice President Roberto Celis and Executive Director Bhumi Dave.
SGA DEBATE
The Student Government Association executive debate was held at the University Student Commons Monday.
The debate began at 1 p.m. and was moderated by Honors College Dean Timothy Hulsey. Fiftynine students were in attendance, as scheduled classes were going on at the same time.
SATURDAY STREET CLOSINGS
Saturday, March 28 the Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k will be taking place in downtown Richmond, resulting in numerous street closings throughout the city and VCU’s Monroe Park campus. Previous races in the city have caused heavy traffic, resulting in long travel delays.
Dirty campaigning gone awry
While each presidential ticket has pledged against dirty campaigning, rumors have been circulating about presidential nominee Stephanie Lynch. A group that calls itself “VCUSGA hostaltakeover” (sic) has been sending out e-mails to The Commonwealth Times and the student body stating Lynch was found guilty last semester by the honor council for cheating.
