A T.O. with T.H.

Opportunities for small bands to pick up music industry knowledge and get a real shot at success rarely come. But Gorilla Productions has been working for the past six years to change this with the Battle of the Bands planned for Sunday at Alley Katz.

These music battles occur in 75 different cities all over the country, but Gorilla Productions has only been involved in Richmond for a few years.

First-run movie theater to open

City dwellers will not have to drive out to Short Pump or Midlothian to see the new Jonas Brothers’ movie Friday, or “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” or even the new “Madea goes to jail,” film. Faculty finesse

“The Big Knife” premieres this Thursday at the Shafer Street Playhouse’s Newdick Theatre. Unlike the soulful but thrifty student-directed plays put on by the Shafer Alliance Laboratory Theatre, this play marks the second time a faculty member has taken the director’s chair at the theatre.
